The Football Federation of Georgia has apologized to Armenia's Football Federation for the incident that took place after the Georgia-Armenia youth match held in Tbilisi on September 7, as reported by Gazeta.ru.
According to Georgian presses, after the match, the Armenian football players wanted to celebrate their victory (2-0) and started dancing patriotic dances on the field. Disappointed in their defeat, the Georgian team didn't like this and attacked the guest players. Security officers didn't respond at all and only after the heads and trainers of the teams intervened did the football players calm down and go to their dressing rooms.
On August 11, the same teams played in Yerevan. Although the match ended with the Georgians' victory (3:2), there was no incident registered after the match. Perhaps the reason was because the Georgian football players hadn't danced one of their ethnic dances or didn't know how to dance at all.
