Clinton disappointed the Turks

Turkish political scientists were disappointed in the fact that U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's visited the Armenian Genocide memorial complex.
A number of political scientists commented on the visit and mentioned that that factually registered the freeze of Armenian-Turkish relations.
Although the U.S. Embassy had declared that the U.S. Secretary of State's visit to the memorial complex was "private", Turkish political figures gave sharp evaluations and presented them to "Hurriyet" newspaper.

Representative of Turkey's ruling "Justice and Development" party Mehmed Jeylan said they weren't expecting such a step from their allies in relation to the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations. "This hurts the process and in that sense, we don't accept Clinton's visit and that fact disappointed us," he said.
According to oppositionist deputy Deniz Bolyukbash, the Turkey-Armenia Protocols have failed.

"The visit of the U.S. Secretary of State was the result of the Turkish government's wrong policy," he said.
Deputy of another oppositional "Democratic-State" party Shukru Elekdag foresees that the Turks will have a hard time resisting the claims of genocide from now on.
"It will be difficult, especially since Turkey has adopted such a policy on Iran," he said.
