Minister Bartak arrived with delay

Defense Ministers of the Czech Republic and Armenia, Martin Bartak and Seyran Ohanyan, today signed an agreement on military partnership in the RA Ministry of Defense.

"We expect that the agreement will guarantee cooperation on practical and mutually beneficial conditions. Czech is a full-right and active member of European and Euro-Atlantic structures and the cooperation with this country doubles Armenia's chances to boost cooperation in the framework of NATO, OSCE and UN," RA Defense Minister Seryan Ohanyan announced during the briefing following the ceremony of signing.

Only two journalists had a chance to address questions during the briefing as the Czech Minister who had arrived with delay was in a hurry.

The agreement foresees cooperation in the spheres of military education, military medicine and peacemaking mission.

"Armenian and Czech political circles highlight partnership in the sphere of defense, especially enhancement of cooperation in military industry," underlined Minister Ohanyan.

Martin Bartak, in his turn, said that the Czech Republic is ready to provide military experience, teaching and training to Armenian Armed Forces.

After the meeting the Czech delegation headed to the RA President's residence to meet with Serzh Sargsyan. The delegation will later visit the Tsitsernakaberd to pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
