ARMENIA AND UKRAINE FMs DISCUSSED OSCE SUMMIT TO BE HELD IN ASTANA


The press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports / http://www.mfa.gov.ua/mfa/en/news/detail/48650.htm  / that on 17 November 2010, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian.
 
 
The Ministers exchanged views on the current issues of bilateral relations, the upcoming OSCE Summit in Astana and its importance for reinvigorating the activities of the Organization, including in relation to settlement of protracted conflicts. Minister Nalbandian informed his colleague on the current status of the negotiation process on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Minister Gryshchenko expressed hope that a lasting and mutually acceptable solution will bring prosperity and stability to the region. In that regard Minister Gryshchenko also expressed his full support to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards peaceful settlement of the conflict based upon the norms and principles of international law, particularly, upon the principles of non-use of force or threat of force, territorial integrity, and the equal rights and self-determination of peoples as well as other principles of the Helsinki Final Act and approaches contained in the Athens Ministerial Statement.
