Activists hold a sit-down strike

Youth activists of the Armenian National Congress held a sit-down strike today at Freedom Square in defense of prisoner David Kiramijyan.

The youth activists started the strike by reading the RA Constitution out loud with an attempt to remind the authorities that their rights were reserved by law.

According to David Kiramijyan's brother Hovhannes, they will fight until the end.

"We hope that there will finally be real power in the country and the Constitution will not be merely a book, but a book of laws that are enforced," said Hovhannes.

The action organized by nearly 20 youth was held without any incidents.

Let us remind that David Kiramijyan was arrested near Freedom Square on May 31 and is suspected of committing hooliganism.
