Armenian grandmaster Vladimir Akopian lost to Pavel Elyanov (Ukraine) in the 2nd round of Men's Grand Prix in Astrakhan, Russia. After the defeat, Akopian shares the 9-14th places with four chess players with 0.5 points.
In the 3rd round, Akopian will rival another outsider of the tournament Peter Svidler (Russia)
After two games, the standings is led by five chess players with 1,5 points each.
