The office of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) was reopened in Talin. The office had been shut down after the events of March 1, 2008.
The HAK's office will temporarily be headed by former political prisoner Mkrtich Sapeyan until the former director of the office Hayk Atanesyan returns from abroad.
Attending the opening of the office were members of HAK and residents of Talin.
"This central office of Talin will allow us to understand Armenia's political life. Unfortunately, we don't have authorities that are accountable not only to the people, but to international centers," said Armenian National Congress coordinator Levon Zurabyan.
Head of HAK's Legal Support Center Gagik Jhangiryan promised the attendees: "Through our legal struggle, we will soon say good-bye to these authorities and establish rule of law in Talin."
During the meeting, residents of Talin did not miss out on the opportunity to complain about their social conditions.
"It is even hard for us to say how we will live after the inflation of gas, drinking and irrigation water. Why do we have to pay such a high tax for water when we don't have it?" complained the residents.
Historian Rafik Galstyan, 80, asked why aren't the events that took place in Kyrgyzstan taking place in Armenia.
"We don't need that. We don't want to come to power through illegitimate means and establish justice. When people come to power through murder, massacres, bombings and theft, they work just like the previous authorities. An example is Bakiyev who came to power the same way 5 years ago. The people saw him off five years later. We must lead a political struggle," said Gagik Jhangiryan.
The residents of Talin bid farewell to the HAK representatives to Yerevan and assured that the residents who supported Levon Ter-Petrosyan are still by his side.
