Turkey is still silent

Almost all Turkish presses have disseminated Serzh Sargsyan's announcement on suspending the procedure of ratifying the Turkey-Armenia Protocols signed in Zurich, but the official Ankara has not responded to that yet.

The topic of the day for all Turkish mass media outlets was the decision of Armenia's ruling political coalition to suspend the Turkey-Armenia Protocols and Turkish Prime Minister Receb Tayyip Erdogan has expressed his view on that occasion.

According to Turkish presses, in a joint press conference with his New Zealand counterpart, Erdogan said the following in regard to the RA National Assembly's suspension of the Turkey-Armenian Protocols:

"The Armenian parliament is a competent body. Let is solve the process of normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations."

Erdogan also announced that he doesn't believe that the decision of the Armenian authorities will have an impact on US President Barack Obama's speech on April 24.
"No country has the right to remind another country of its history. We have sent the message to Armenia and that shows our loyal position. We stay true to our decisions on Turkish-Armenian relations," said Erdogan.

Press secretary of the Turkish Foreign Ministry Burak Ozugergin had said earlier that Ankara is discussing the complicated situation and is trying to find the reason for the Armenian authorities' decision.
