“Light of Armenia” put on display in Paris

French capital Paris hosted a presentation of a photo album entitled "The Light of Armenia." The event, organized by French Armenian businessman Cyril Waskoll Kazandjian, was held under the auspices of Armenian Ambassador to France.

French renowned photographer Jean-Michem Berts presented the beauty of Armenia and Artsakh in his tow-colour photos.

The event was attended by representatives of public, political, cultural, scientific and educational circles and members of Armenian community of France.

Young musicians giving concerts in USA

Children of Sayat Nova Music School (Yerevan) are giving concerts in U.S. cities these days.

The young musicians led by Maestro Tigran Hekekyan participated in a reception ceremony in the Holy Martyrs Gymnasium in New York where they received souvenirs from Headmistress Zarmine Pogosyan.

On September 25, Queensborough Community College hosted a concert dedicated to 19th anniversary of Armenia's independence. The concert coincided with the 85th anniversary of People's Artist of Armenia Hovhannes Badalyan.

After the concert, the young musicians were welcomed by Archbishop Hazhak Parsamyan, Leader of Right Bank Diocese of Armenian Church in the USA.

Typhoon Fanapi death toll hits 70 in China

The death toll from Typhoon Fanapi, one of the strongest storms to hit China in years, has reached 70, state media reported Saturday, after rescuers uncovered more than a dozen bodies.

Workers searching through the debris left by mudslides discovered the bodies in southern Guangdong province, local disaster relief authorities said, adding that 65 people are still missing, Xinhua reported, according to foreign media.

Authorities said helicopters were being used to ferry water, food and tents to people in isolated areas, many of which had been cut off by flooding.

Around 100,000 people had been evacuated, with nearly 4,000 homes
